Evert's journey began with a bachelor's degree in anthropology, laying the foundation for his deep knowledge of Incan history, architecture, and culture. By immersing himself in archaeological sites over the years, he honed his expertise in the complexity of Incan life and craftsmanship. His fluency in Ketch Wan, the ancient language of the Incas, further deepens his understanding and connection to this captivating civilisation.

Transitioning into tourism armed with a diploma in the field, Evert's passion for imparting knowledge led him to pursue a career as a tour guide. It was during this period that he crossed paths with his wife Rosemary, and now with two grown up children his company has grown from strength to strength.

Evert's dedication extends beyond the boundaries of his own company; He assumed the role of president of all the tour guides in a region of Cusco, defending their well-being and rights. His efforts focused on ensuring that guides received equitable compensation, adequate sustenance, and appropriate equipment for their duties, prioritising their overall well-being.

At the heart of Evert's philosophy is a firm commitment to maintaining high standards and principles on every tour. Leading by example, he sets a precedent that other companies in Peru should emulate. An integral part of this mission is the reverence, consideration, and equitable treatment of all staff and carriers, along with their families.

Evert and his team go the extra mile to provide comprehensive training to tour guides, covering history, geography, nature, and other relevant topics. This ensures that tours not only educate but are also developed to an exceptional level, enhancing each traveler's experience.

Through his leadership and unwavering dedication to ethical conduct, Evert continues to shape the tourism landscape in Peru, leaving a positive mark on both his community and the adventurers who participate in his tours.

Emma plays a pivotal role as the backbone of our company in England. With her expertise as an independent travel agent and her deep passion for Peru, Emma brings over 14 years of firsthand knowledge and dedication to crafting unforgettable experiences for our passengers.

Her responsibilities encompass a wide range of tasks, including organising flights, understanding the specific requirements and desires of each traveler, and liaising closely with our team in Peru to ensure seamless holiday adventures. Emma's meticulous attention to detail ensures that every aspect of the tour is carefully considered, from transportation and accommodations to acclimatisation needs, dietary restrictions, and special occasions such as birthdays or honeymoons.

With her extensive experience and access to competitive flights protected by Atol, Emma guarantees peace of mind and reliability in every booking. She goes above and beyond to tailor each tour to the unique preferences of our clients, often surprising them with thoughtful touches along the way.

In addition to her role as a travel agent, Emma also leads our retreats twice a year, drawing upon her over 30 years of experience in the industry and her expertise as a registered healer and sound therapist. Her commitment to providing enriching and transformative experiences shines through in every aspect of her work. Emma is truly the heart and soul of our company, ensuring that every journey with us is nothing short of extraordinary.

At Sacred Pathways Tours, I serve as the creative force behind our online presence, aiding in designing our website and ensuring our social media platforms are vibrant and engaging. With a degree in Architecture, coupled with a background in graphic design, I bring a unique blend of artistic flair and technical expertise to our digital platforms. My passion for travel is deeply ingrained, and being part of the Sacred Pathways team allows me to continuously explore and uncover breathtaking destinations across South America, each adding a new gem to my ever-growing bucket list.

Retreat Coordinator

Richard Streets trained at the world-renowned College of Integrated Chinese Medicine. He holds a BSc (Hons) degree in acupuncture and is a member of the British Acupuncture Council (MBAcC). He is a full-time acupuncturist since 2013 and has practised in the UK and southeast Asia.

Richard has been a part of the Sacred Pathways Retreat Team as an Alternative Therapist now for a number of years and has a great reputation for helping and healing through his intuitive acupuncture techniques and practises.
